The partnership at a glance

A new website is the beginning.

A familiar address for families. Structured curriculum pages. Help with the updates that need a little more thought. And guidance the school team can put into practice themselves.

“We have been extremely pleased with the support and guidance we have received throughout the development of our new school website.”

A website that reflects the school

At St Thomas’ Halliwell CE Primary School in Bolton, the school’s welcome is rooted in a simple message: ‘Let Your Light Shine’. Its website introduces families to that Christian ethos, the school’s vision and the importance it places on relationships between home and school.

A new website needed to do more than present that welcome. It also needed to organise the detail families look for: curriculum information, safeguarding advice, policies, staff information and news about school life. Behind those pages, the school team needed a way to keep information current, with help available when an update needed a different approach.

“The team have been professional, helpful and supportive throughout, taking the time to understand our school and create a website that reflects our vision and identity.”

A new website, the same familiar address

The new website went live on 27 January 2026, using the school’s existing address. Parents and carers could continue to visit the domain they already knew, while the school introduced its refreshed website.

Schudio worked with the school on the content as well as the launch. Curriculum materials supplied by the team were organised into subject pages, with tabs bringing together information such as subject overviews, progression of skills and photo galleries. The work continued around launch as subject leaders’ documents arrived and the school refined its wording.

That collaboration mattered in the detail. Rather than treating every document as a standalone download, the team considered where information belonged and how it should be labelled so that each subject page followed a useful structure.

“The finished website looks fantastic - modern, professional, easy to navigate and completely bespoke to our school.”

Finding the right way to present information

The support relationship continued after launch. When the school wanted to improve how safeguarding information appeared, Schudio helped it consider the reading experience as well as the layout.

One document could have been displayed as a series of large images. Instead, Schudio added a flipbook option that kept it within the page and allowed visitors to open a larger, full-screen view. The school responded positively to having both options available.

Other updates followed the school’s priorities. A new Personal Development page brought supplied materials together, an ‘11 Before 11’ page was added, and alumni contributions were presented as speech bubbles. Each was a practical piece of work to help the website communicate more of school life.

Helping families reach the latest report

When the school received its latest Ofsted report, the task was to make it easy for families to find and present the school’s chosen information appropriately.

Schudio worked through the options with the school. The final approach placed the supplied text and official QR-code image on the Ofsted Report page, with a clearly labelled ‘Read Our Latest Ofsted Report’ button beneath the Headteacher’s Welcome on the homepage.

At the school’s request, the button was changed to blue so it stood out more clearly. It was a small refinement, but one with a clear purpose: giving visitors an obvious route to the report without filling the homepage with a long extract.

Practical help that builds independence

Alongside hands-on help, Schudio provided guidance on making future changes. The aim was not simply to complete each request, but to show the school team where to make the next update themselves.

By July, the school was making most of its updates, with Schudio helping with a homepage award logo and explaining where those logos were managed. In September, support focused on promoting an upcoming open day. Schudio created an image from a Canva template and explained how the website’s alert bar and pop-up image could be used together.

Later that month, the school wanted documents already used on the Nursery page to appear on the Reception page too. Schudio explained how to select the existing files rather than download and upload them again. The school confirmed it had successfully added the documents.

These are everyday tasks, but they show what useful support looks like: help with the immediate question, followed by clear instructions the school can use again.

A partnership beyond launch day

St Thomas’ story starts with a website the school is proud of and continues through the work that happens after launch. School staff supply the knowledge, priorities and content. Schudio helps turn those into well-organised pages and supports the team as it becomes more familiar with managing them.

From curriculum documents and safeguarding information to an open-day announcement, the website continues to develop around the school’s needs. The result is an ongoing working relationship, with practical help available as new questions arise.

“We are delighted with the end result and would highly recommend their service to other schools looking for a professional, personalised website.”
