Performance Tables – School Website Requirement

What is the Performance Tables Requirement?

The school website requirement for performance tables is that "you must include a link to the school and college performance tables and your school’s performance tables page."

This means, that you need to choose an appropriate place to add a link to your specific school's performance tables on the relevant government website.

What steps do I need to take to meet the Performance Tables Requirement?

This is such a simple requirement to meet. It's also very simple and there's very little to do beyond the requirement. But, you do need to link to the correct information.

So, follow these steps ...

  • #1: Go to the School Performance Tables website - https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/
  • #2: Search for your school by name, URN or location
  • #3: Locate your school in the list and click on the name of your school
  • #4: Add the link to this specific page to your school website

Where should I add the Performance Tables link to my school website?

Our advice is to choose from one of two options.

Option 1 - Add to a page in your website

You could choose to create a page which has your Ofsted report, exam results and performance tables. That is an option that some schools choose and it does work.

That's because it's great to see the information that is relevantly tied together displayed on a single page so it's easier to find and you're not adding another menu link.

An example, see here: https://st-annesrc.lancs.sch.uk/about-us/exam-and-performance-tables

Option 2 - Link Direct from your menu

This is a more popular option because this is a straight link through to your performance results page on your website with no need for visitors to go to a page first, before reaching your results.

One important note, make sure that you make your link open in a new window because you're linking to an external website. That is always best practice.

And that's it! A really straightforward requirement to meet in full, very quickly.

NOTE FOR 2020/21:

The Government has announced that it will not publish any school or college level educational performance data based on tests, assessments or exams for 2020. So. this update published here [https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-school-and-college-performance-measures?_ga=2.21780472.237164205.1603446314-1858575362.1603446314] clarifies what this means for the way school and college accountability will operate for 2019/20.
