Why I use Learning Wall
Why I use Learning Wall

Who are we talking to?
Brendan is an ICT teacher in London, teaching students from Year 1 to Year 8. He started to use Learning Wall in class since October, 2013 and has just started using V2.0.
How do you use Learning Wall?
I have already integrated Learning Wall in every lesson I teach, with students from Year 1-8. The use of Learning Wall helps with class organization because it serves as a homepage of all the web links. Before I used Learning Wall, I often opened my blog which contained a lot of links. It was more text-based and didn’t look nice. But Learning Wall is very visual and nice and now it serves as a homepage. Besides, as students also have access to my Learning Wall when they go back home, they are able to see the same screen as they see in class. It is therefore easier for students to do revision of lessons on their own.
What are the effects of Learning Wall on your teaching?
The most important function of Learning Wall, in my opinion, is to gather useful links together. It helps to make the organization of class delivery easier and clearer. It serves as a homepage of all the resources I need. The most distinguishing result of using Learning Wall instead of other tools is that Pupils, when they return home, can see what they see in class. They have access to the exactly same screen as shown in classroom which helps them to recall what they have learnt in class.
How do you see Learning Wall V2.0 impacting your school?
I can’t wait to get started with this – having the option to allow other teachers and students to create their own Walls on topic or for specific parts of the curriculum is going to be great. I love that we can more easily add our own code for widgets and the new drag and drop features make something that was already good, lots better and loads easier to use.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Comments: In terms of the overall performance of Learning Wall, I’d rate it as “very good”. I think it is a brilliant idea to gather all the useful resources together. It not only looks nice, but is easy to operate in class. Just click on the tiles you need and you will be immediately navigated to the web links. I don’t need to type the links, which people always make errors when typing. In terms of the easiness to set up Learning Wall, I’d rate it as “pretty easy”.
