How Schudio helped Lytham C.E. Primary School transform their website to jump ahead of the competition

The Background

We believe that a happy child is a successful one, so we work together to present a curriculum that is exciting, challenging and enjoyable. We work in close partnership with parents to ensure that all our pupils have an excellent start to their education. The children, staff, Governors and our families all believe that Lytham C.E Primary School is a brilliant place to learn and grow. We wanted to convey that to our community with a new primary school website.

The Challenge

As a school, we struggled to“sell” our school to prospective parents through this medium because the old website was hugely outdated. We were relying heavily on paper copies of everything. That’s from newsletters to announcements of events and this proved ineffective, as well as costly. We knew we needed something new, fresh, easy to use and professional. That is why we chose Schudio. We wanted to meet the needs of our current parents of course. The option for an app alongside the website sounded like something we could make use of for this purpose.

The Solution: New Primary School Website, Schudio School Website Software & School Photography Service

Schudio gave us fantastic support during our first meeting in recognising where our old website was “going wrong”. Schudio weren’t pushy and they gave us plenty of time to make the decisions. We were given many different options and pricing was very clear.  The opportunity was offered to meet and “iron out” a few small issues that were rectified quickly and easily.

We were provided with a website content audit to identify statutory requirements and if they were being met or not. This was most useful, particularly as we were due a SIAMS inspection.

Our new Schudio website now looks amazing. With simple lines and a themed colour scheme throughout the site, our site is as professional as we hoped for. The photography has captured our Christian ethos with clarity.

The interface of the administrative area is easy to use and, with super training sessions by Ben, has been easy to use during the early stages. All staff now feel confident to upload information and images to their class pages – which keeps our website looking fresh and relevant.

The Results

Our parents are accessing the newsletter more conveniently through the website and through the use of the app. Parents, governors, staff and other visitors to our site have commented how easy our documents are to access. The children love seeing their photographs being added to the class pages and parents are thrilled at seeing what their children are doing each week.

Now our newsletter is 100% digital, we are saving paper and printing costs much to our Business Manager’s delight!

The Future

We are only in the first few months of our Schudio website “going live” but if this is what a couple of months can do then I can only imagine what the future holds. We hope to work closely with Schudio in the future to trial more features and keep up to speed on other ways to market our school. Schudio is a family-run business with schools and education at the heart of everything they do.
