Statutory Content Required For Your School Website.

News

From 1st September 2012, new regulations come into force regarding school information on school websites. These are the amendments to the School Information (England) Regulations 2008 and it applies to maintained, academies and free schools.

Sometimes it can be difficult to know how to present all this information to your school website visitors so below you'll not only find the information that you're obliged to include on your site, but some information on how to present this. Bear in mind that users want to be able to find anything within less that two clicks. Have a look at LSA Technology & Performing Arts College web site. Have a look at the site structure under Our School.

You'll see that the policy information, Key Stage Results, Premium Policy and Curriculum information is carefully broken down and structured so that it is easy to find but also not the first thing that users see. The people who use your web site most are parents and then prospective parents. The information they want to get at is Contact Details, Term Dates and the OFSTED Report. Present this information in a way that engages them and is easy to find and they'll reward you by engaging with the rest of your content, like news, events, fund raising efforts etc.
